West Virginia: casinos and responsible-gambling resources

5 properties listed from West Virginia Lottery. Every row links to its source and shows the date we last verified it (2026-10-18); fields we could not verify say "Not confirmed". Confirm with the casino before you travel.

Scope: Lists the four racetrack casinos and The Historic Greenbrier Casino that the West Virginia Lottery and Racing Commission pages name, with addresses from the Lottery's employee directory. West Virginia also has limited video lottery machines in licensed adult-only retailers; those are not casinos and are not listed. Coverage is limited to what the cited regulator page(s) list. It may not include every gaming venue in the state (for example casinos run by tribes under separate regulation, racetrack-only venues, or sports-wagering-only locations) unless a note below says so.

Age: Minimum age: Not confirmed on a regulator page we could read. U.S. casinos set minimum ages of 18 or 21 depending on state and venue, so check the regulator and the casino before you go. Not stated for in-person casino gaming on the West Virginia Lottery or Racing Commission pages we could read. For reference only, labelled as such: (1) the West Virginia Lottery FAQ (a regulator page) says 'You must be 18 years or older to purchase tickets' (lottery tickets only); (2) the Lottery's interactive gaming rule, W. Va. Code R. 179-10-3.5, says an operator 'shall only accept wagers from patrons who are 21 years of age or older' (online gaming only); (3) statute, not a regulator page: W. Va. Code 29-22C-29 is reported to bar anyone under 21 from the designated gaming area of a racetrack table games licensee. Confirm with the casino.

Lottery Self-Exclusion Program (Voluntary Exclusion Program)

Run by: West Virginia Lottery

Covers: All activities at the four West Virginia racetrack casinos and The Historic Greenbrier Casino, plus mobile applications and online gaming associated with the West Virginia Lottery (casino, iGaming and sports betting). It does not exclude you from iLottery (iPlay), which is handled separately in the iPlay app or website.

How to enroll: Complete the Self-Exclusion Request Form (downloadable from the Lottery page) with a copy of government-issued photo ID; if it is not completed in front of West Virginia Lottery security staff, page 3 must be notarized. Mail it to the West Virginia Lottery, 900 Pennsylvania Avenue, Charleston, WV 25302. Terms on the form: the Commission will consider removal after one year; you stay on the list permanently unless the Commission or a court decides otherwise; entering a casino after exclusion is trespass; the exclusion list is public record.

Helpline (as the source prints it): 1-800-GAMBLER (1800gambler.net), the West Virginia Problem Gambling Help Network, as printed on the West Virginia Lottery page

National Council on Problem Gambling currently brands the national helpline 1-800-MY-RESET (https://www.ncpgambling.org/help-treatment/, read 2026-10-17); the state pages cited here still print 1-800-GAMBLER.
