Free, confidential help: national helpline 1-800-MY-RESET (call, text or chat at 1800myreset.org), 24/7. Many state pages still print 1-800-GAMBLER; the state's own number is shown exactly as its source prints it below.
Maine casino self-exclusion (Gambling Control Board)
Run by: Maine Gambling Control Board / Gambling Control Unit (Department of Public Safety)
Covers: All casinos in Maine (Hollywood Casino Bangor, Oxford Casino); the Board's Chapter 13 rule also provides exclusion for slot facilities, advance deposit wagering, fantasy contests and sports wagering. The Board holds the official list and releases names only to casino or slot establishments.
How to enroll: In person, signing the Self-Exclusion Request Form and Waiver of Liability, at the Gambling Control Unit (45 Commerce Drive, Augusta, ME 04333; (207) 626-3900), Hollywood Casino (500 Main Street, Bangor; 1-877-779-7771) or Oxford Casino (777 Casino Way, Oxford; (207) 539-6700). Bring government photo ID; a photo is taken or you bring one from the last 6 months. Terms: 1 year, 3 years, 5 years or lifetime; a lifetime exclusion can be petitioned for removal five years after placement by written request to the Executive Director. Entering a casino while excluded can lead to arrest for trespassing and winnings are turned over to the Board.
Helpline (as the source prints it): Not confirmed (regulator): the Gambling Control Board's self-exclusion instructions say you receive 'resources and information about problem gambling and where to go for help' but print no helpline number. Earlier research (non-regulator pages): dial 211 (or text your ZIP code to 898-211).
